form of wander

PIER - TAMPA, FLORIDA (2017)

Form of Wander is designed for a public site with a lot of foot traffic. Triggering visual reference to tall forest trees, the piece effectively acts as them too -- a grove of tangled columns provides shade and ambiance to those beneath and within. The effect is similar to looking up at a canopy of trees to see a speckled moire of light filtered through its leaves. The coloration of the piece is also referenced from nature, but its greens are saturated to a point of artificiality, producing a contemporary effect.
