This public gateway is situated between an access road and the police station, and is also within sightlines from a major adjacent freeway. Considering this context, the objective was to appeal to the visual speed of passersby in cars, while also providing a dynamic spatial experience as a person walks beneath and through the artwork. As TVM’s second piece in Edmonton, visual distinction from Vaulted Willow was deliberately prioritized.
