An experiment within a certain form of fragility / unstability : a dynamic structure balancing a very thin and fragil material with the possible geometrical strengh of double curvature – it will bend but…

Sukkah as sum of its parts:
49 722 holes
25 000 rivets
10 420 text
5 257 unique parts
120 hours of CNC
60 sheets of walnut veneer

10 days of assembly!

One of the four prototypes.

Inside/Out : 10 out of the 11 modules assembled.
The large cap (and its three polyps) was assembled but not on due to transportation height constraints.

This is the last time it has been seen assembled and standing!

It since collapsed under the tenstion of its straps on its way to Union square… this was followed by a long fight and multiple resurections by its many volunteers and that in the middle of a crowded plazza… before finally accepting its faith due to too many wounds and fatal breakages… and finally slowly watch its necrose under its own weight…

Fragil if ever a quality is probably how far can you go too far…

More images of the “cadavre exquis” to come…
